Under Officer

From ARRSEpedia

These come in two flavours:

  • Junior Under Officer (JUO)
  • Senior Under Officer (SUO)

It is an appointment made to Officer Cadets and is used at RMA Sandhurst, within the University Officer Training Corps and, curiously enough, the Army Cadet Force and Combined Cadet Force.

The distinguishing feature of their insignia is the presence of an Austrian Knot above the white Officer Cadet band.

There are claims that appointment to this title can lead to megalomania among members of the UOTC.
