Tactics is the name given by the military to the plan to kick the enemies ass in the local area.

Tactics can involve manoeuvring large units (battalions) around a battlefield or may simply be the plan for a small unit indulging in the ever popular causing havoc in public spaces and all points in between.

The tactics that are correct for victory in one battle can get you a major shoeing in the next. Ie at Waterloo the British infantry fought in straight lines and advanced slowly with menace so defeating the French Old Guard. 101 years later at the Somme, the British infantry advanced in straight lines, slowly and with menace ... and got massacred.

Tactics are not small sweets - those are Tictacs.

Moving whole armies, divisions etc is normally called Strategy.
