North Yorkshire

Home to Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire is a non-metropolitan county (that means they are too far North to have sunshine or duvets). It has hundreds of exciting places to visit, including where James Herriot lived (he wrote the hymn all things bright and beautiful) and where Heartbeat, the realistic police drama series set in the 1960s was filmed.

William Hague is a Conservative Party MP for North Yorkshire and is probably the most charismatic feature of the entire region.

North Yorkshire covers the lands of North Riding, East Riding and West Riding, which is a lot of riding, even for the thousands of hormonal recruits at Catterick.
