A fine old traditional county that's not officially existed since 1965 - when the whole shapeless Greater London thing was dreamt up - predominantly by the Labour Change Machine and most certainly under Harold Wilson's tenure.
But all is not lost, Middlesex - one of the ancient Historic Counties of England - still exists, albeit in the Royal Mail's postal system.
Middlesex is also used as a term to describe those who 'Bat for the Other Team'... or, more specifically, both sides - i.e. 'Batting for Middlesex!'
