Flak

Flugzeugabwehrkanone, a German word for an anti-aircraft (AAA) gun, shortened and used to describe the weapon effects and also incorporated into the tautology "Flak gun".
Early versions of CBA were built to try and mitigate the effects of Flak on aircrew, leading to the term"flak jacket". This was later more commonly used to refer to a normal DPM jacket, in the same way that shell fragmentation is called Shrapnel, except among the Keepers Of The Flame, directed by the wizards of Larkhill.
Due to the irritating and sometimes destructive nature of Flak, it's nowadays used to describe trouble coming your way.
