Chief Clerk

The Chief Clerk can actually be any rank but is mostly assumed to be a WO2 in a Battalion or Regiment (where they are also called the 'RAOWO'). Chief Clerks in the rank of Corporal exist in small minor units.

Effectively they are the driving force behind all G1 in the unit, controlling all aspects of reports, finance, pay, claims, discipline and so on. A good Chief Clerk is essential if you have serious intentions of progressing through the Army: secure your G1/G4 flanks!
