100 Years War
The Hundred Years War lasted from 1337 to 1453 so technically its the 116 Years War but thats not as catchy.
The war was between between two royal houses for the vacant French throne. The frogs didnt forget or lose their king, the senior Capetian line of French kings simply died out due to insufficient legovering.
The two primary contenders for the crown was the House of Valois (Frog, BOOOO!) and the House of Plantagenet (English, HUZZAH!)
The war wasn't continuous as the poor sods needed a rest occasionally. It was a series of fairly substantial wars that are usually run together into one huuuuumungus war. Most historians divide it up as follows:
- the Edwardian War (1337–1360),
- the Caroline War (1369–1389),
- the Lancastrian War (1415–1429)
- the Joan of Arc period (1412–1431)
In the early period the frog was on the receiving end of some terrible beastings :- Crecy Poitier, Agincourt. Only in the later stages and under command of a religiously inspired woman did the French finally get the upper hand (french manhood being a bit shit in the command as well as the legovering department).
