Bought my 9 month old daughter her first heavy metal t-shirt yesterday. A Motorhead babygro. Mrs Foggy is less than impressed. Tough - Heavy Metal, it is the law. But anyway, back on topic.

AC/DC - Back in Black
Judas Priest - British Steel
Metallica - Master of Puppets
QOTSA - Songs for the Deaf
Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape

and (not sure if it's metal, but it does rock and little Miss Foggy does enjoy it)...
Veruca Salt - Eight Arms to Hold You

More Hair than Heavy but i'm a true believer the only album anyone needs to own is the self titled "Skid Row", anything else is just being greedy.

black sabbath - paranoid

Not many heavy metal, mostly heavy rock for me, but here goes:-

Motorhead: Motorhead.
Deep Purple: Made in Japan
Thin Lizzy: Live and dangerous
Led Zeppelin: Four symbols (or led zep 4)
Judas Pries: Sad wings of Destiny
Black Sabbath: Paranoid and or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

I am sure there are many more.

Just thought of another. Iron Maiden's debut album was great.

Rainbow: Rainbow rising was damned good.
Forgot about "bat out of hell" excelent album.

EDIT to add:- Neither is really Heavy Metal though. Heavy rock IMO (much better than metal).

Iron maiden- Edward the great
That's a compilation albulm, do they count?

Not metal but 'Wagnerian Rock', Jim Steinmans (the man without whom meatloaf would be nothing) Bad For Good. Some ace tracks on that albulm, much better than Meat Loaf's versions too.

Bruce Dickonson - Accident Of Birth
Iron Maiden - Beast Over Hammersmith
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (for sentimental reasons, first albulm of any of the rock genres I heard)
