    How the vote worked

People voted for their 3 most and 3 least respected professions.

The most respected was assigned 5 points, the second most respected 3 points and the third most respected 1 point.

At the other end of the scale, the least respected received -5 points, the second most respected -3 points and the third least respected -1. These points were then added together and the above table compiled.

  2. The results speak volumes #92 Member of Parliament  Minus 6,256 tut tut Mr Blair and fellow chumps! and for those REME personnel amongst us (dependant on trade)you can add your score together - #16 Mechanical Engineer  631 #17 Soldier  618 = 1249.... puts us between University lecturers and Peadop Ahem....Churchmen......not bad!!

Going straight to HELL for that one!!

  3. Someone write in to the BBC to ask why soldiers were ranked as well as armed forces officers - and where were airmen and seamen?

Sorry - should have read 'wrote' NOT 'write'....

  4. Vermin,

Don't get started on that one...do you know how many air corps pilots are on here...its bad enough that they get paid £25 a day extra without making them even more "appreciated"...sorry guys I know you'll only give me grief and then explain that your highly trained and could earn much more...blah blah blah .....zzzzzzzzzzzz

  5. why is soldier grouped different to Officer?

  6. I guess it's due to the civ habit of classing bods according to "Professional v Unskilled or Tradesman" trade groups.
