Not a prerequisite for using the Title 'Dr' by the way. There are academic Drs.
Further, most UK qualified medical practitioners are not technically Dr's. On the whole, they hold the (conjoint) degrees of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. The title of Dr. is used only by convention.

She does appear to be a piece of work. One of many Ugandan Asians granted sanctuary here during the Idi Amin reign of terror, she has a strange way of showing her appreciation! There is no doubt many of those people have contributed greatly to this country, but I’m at a loss to know what value she has added. Of course, she has been indulged and allowed to spout her venom and bile because of society’s reluctance to call out racism when it is spouted by those of a certain colour.
Staggeringly, in 2001, she was awarded an MBE (for services to Journalism) initially accepted it, then in 2003 handed it back as she believed the Honours system to be tainted and outdated, but also as a protest against the Labour Government of the time and its stance on Iran. At least that’s something we can agree on!
The more I learn about this woman the more I despise her.
John Lennon walt. Pathetic tokenism. She may have returned her MBE medal but as the honour has not been revoked*, she is still a MBE**.

Given that the melanin of humans who migrated to Northern Europe eventually reduced, the irony is that unless the climate does change and we get the same amount of UV as the equatorial regions, black people in Northern Europe will probably become comparatively white over several thousands of years. Otherwise they may be at risk of vitamin D deficiency.
How white will they have to be before Labour MP's stop calling them Uncle Toms?

cos a doctor does a doctoring degree, a surgeon can't have a doctorate in surgery as there isn't such a thing, that's why we call them Mister

I was jolly careful to refer to the surgeon due to operate on me as "Sir" and indeed "Your Highness."

Do they not have to be a doctor long before specialising in surgery? Therefore, why isn't their title at least 'Doctor'?

No, it's because surgeons trace back to the original barber-surgeons and medical doctors don't.

Yabba's gonna have a fit of the vapours over this
