Wasnt the guy in the video of french descent? Surely he'd be better campaigning for more white flag factories in case anyone decides to invade the land of his fore-fathers (yet again).......

Lets give them all a toothpick, deadly in the right hands.
This guy has the brain of a tiny pea, and the stomach of a large bus.

The firearms laws in this country are ridiculous, as are those in the US, but for different reasons.

In the US: Who in the name of all things holy needs a fcking assault rifle at home????? Do they think the Russkies are going to invade and every citizen will have to defend their home to the death>?>>>>

We on the other hand won't let anyone own so much as a pop gun without security checks which make the vetting procedure for working for MI6 look lacklustre.....

Try here for a more realistic picture of US gun law than you'll get from Hollywood.

I just don't understand why the right to bear arms has to end there. If you need a gun to protect yourself, why not (logically) extend it to all weapons? Why not the right to bear RPGs, or the right to bear Claymore Mines? Is it because these weren't invented when the 'right' was put onto the US lawbook?

-Hmmm.... good point , of course when the 1st amendments "Freedom of Speech" was written there was no Radio, Television, Internet, so out the door with those as well, eh?

As for owning an RPG, with the proper permits , it is allowed, as are Machineguns," Silencers", Sawn-off Shotguns, Handgrenades & whathaveyou. Several friends in Pennsylvania own Thompsons, MP-40's, Bren & Sten's that are fully functional.

If you are law abiding and no threat to society why should you not?
In a free country it's a question of want not need.
I,in fact own several,and I don't even live in the States.They are part of a collection,and no,not a DEWAT amongst them.javascript:emoticon('post', 'message', '')
Twisted Evil
Unfortunately you sLimeys are only too quick to give up your RIGHTS in favour of illusionary safety and the Nanny state.

Who can say who's a law abiding citizen and who isn't? I often walk through the town at night and see plenty of questionable characters about. Knowing they most probably *don't* have guns is a comfort!

The gun deaths (not shootings, but deaths) per 100,000 population in 1999 were 4.08 for the USA and just 0.12 for England, Wales and Scotland. (here)

Geez! What a bunch of crap! Get over it Brits! Who needs another useless debate on our gun laws? Our laws and the average American want to own firearms for many reasons. Our laws allow them and we'll keep our rights to own and make legal use of them.

The fact that some or all Brits, don't like it or want to bitch about it isn't going to change anything in our country.

So, now that you all, have banned knifes whats next forks? Only outlaws in the UK have Firearms and knifes in the UK right? ;)

I, for one, need an assault rifle. The local squirrels have formed an insurgency. They're recieving arms and cash from the o'possums on the next block.

Firearms, yes - but they tend to only use them on other outlaws so it's not a massive problem. Just look at the figures! That's PROOF that our gun laws result in a massively lower % of people being shot dead than yours. There is no argument!

Banning guns: It's a good thing
There are 10 Really Good Reasons to Ban Guns:

1. Guns are used in self-defense more than 2 million times a year. However, this makes the attempted crime a "nonevent,'' which necessarily complicates the police investigation. Without civilian ownership of guns, these police investigations would not have been compromised. Civilians should leave crime prevention to the police, who are properly equipped to investigate following the crime's completion.

2. Some .004 percent of guns are used in crime each year. This is way too high. All guns should be banned.

3. In 98 percent of civilian gun defenses, no shot is fired. If you are not going to fire a shot, you clearly don't need a gun. Banning guns will prevent these unnecessary defenses.

4. The high crime rate in Washington, D.C., is caused by the cowardly migration of criminals from gun havens like Virginia, in order to avoid armed householders and concealed-carry civilians. This criminal migration is detrimental to helpless unarmed citizens in no-gun areas.

5. Two relatively small and geographically restricted groups, inner-city gangs and drug dealers, consistently commit the majority of gun crimes. The best way to prevent this is by denying guns to all law-abiding people everywhere.

6. No woman needs to protect herself from rape, assault or murder. The police will protect her by investigating the crime after the fact. Police paperwork is all the protection anyone really needs.

7. Gun owners are disrespectful of authority. Their failure to completely and absolutely trust and depend on the authorities is excessive democracy and sends a bad message to children.

8. Guns owners engaging in self-defense are taking the law into their own hands, and only the police and criminals have the right to take the law into their own hands.

9. Children and young people should remain ignorant about guns. Real guns and real gun knowledge dissipates the fantasies created by violent video games and TV.

10. Guns reduce people's reliance on the police and government, which fosters a mistaken belief in "rights.''

Banning guns will help to establish the order the authorities want. This is good.
