WWI veteran Bill Stone dies aged 108

    That is I'm afraid inevitable and although as I child in the late 60's and early 70's I met a fair few from both wars I really regret not meeting the wifes Grandfather who served as a Gunner in both wars starting as a Bdr on his dated Mons Star and ending with his WW2 defence medal. He served in both BEFs the second one as a Lt commanding a troop of 25 pounders and finished the war in Italy having commanded a battery firing in such battles as Monte Cassino!
