  1. Hey all, I cant find anything on google so ill ask here.

Did the Royal Welch Fusiliers (23rd of Foot) fight in the Italian or north African campaigns in WW2?

  2. Perhaps if you spelle fusiliers correctly you may get better results. FUSILIERS

  3. ok spelling fixed now does anyone know the answer

  4. GOOGLE: Royal Welch Fusiliers in WW2

My best guess is that they were in North Africa.

  5. Google "History of the RWF"

Yes they were in the ME

  6. and Normandy & the ardennes

  7. thanks i saw references to north europe but never afria or italy

  9. The only RWF that fought anywhere in the ME would've been 10RWF(6 Para) landed as part of the DRagoon Landings in the South of France then in Greece.
Otherwise the RWF were Burma and NW Europe post DDAY.

  10. 10 RWF (6 Para) were in Italy from September 43 as part of 2 Para brigade and then served in Greece.

  11. 6th (Royal Welch) Para Battallion went to Italy. Google it

  12. I know, that's my point, they were the only ones who (technicaly were RWF) that went anywhere near ME theater. None went to N.Africa.
