Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. 3ft long bomb? Sounds like an incendiary to me, as it does seem rather small for a standard HE one.

  2. How long was the casing of a 500lb bomb, without the fins? About three foot?

  3. meerkatz

Sounds like this bad boy, dropped in huge numbers on Japanese airfields.
M-81 fragmentation bomb. Body is 8" diameters and 33" long.
