Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. As a boy I grew up with " Rationing " and came across this today which may evoke memories to the O&B ... linky ... BBC News - The time when sweets were strictly rationed ... includes references to Spangles , Fruit Gums and Mars Bars that look as big as a loaf of bread etc .
The basic weekly ration of food seems miniscule compared to what we now consume .... little obesity in those days .

  3. My Grandfather a huge Irish infantryman was told he could only have two Easter eggs, having three daughters he went a bit mental. I understand he got three eggs.
  4. Lovely jubbly, can't beat a bit of free enterprise.
