WTB: Martini Metford

Discussion in 'Shooting, Hunting and Fishing' started by stoatman, Feb 17, 2009.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I would like to buy a Martini Metford without any cordite / NP proof marks on it, since that will be off-ticket over here.

Preferably a rifle rather than a carbine, and definitely in shooting condition.

Anybody know of any kicking around the place?
  2. Mines fairly fcuked and needs a barrel. You can't have it anyway!

I think finding a good one will be a challenge.
Tried: Imperial Gunsight company? They used to do that sort of thing.
  3. See them now and again in auctions
  4. Hmmm

    7.62( Conv.) Fazakerly No4 Mk2, 1955 Un-issued, Beautiful example, with Sling

    One of the Last ..............£395

    7.62 No.4 Mk.1 Sterling, tapped for scope(2)..£285

    L8 rifles?

    Any experts care to comment?

I assume they will shoot like sh1t...

And what on earth is this?

7.62 RFI Jungle Carbine, very tidy, .....£245

I did see a 7.62 No.5-type conversion in Fulton's years back, the owner claimed it shot fine...
  5. It's an Ishapore (RFI) 2A that has been 'jungled'. At least a couple of companies on the US have done these 'conversions'.

Not a No5 that has been converted to 7.62.

No but I do know that Ma Parker used to convert No4s into a passable 7.62 no5!
