Wrex Tarr RIP

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I assume many old Rhodies already know that Wrex Tarr passed away last month. I only read about it today so apologies if there have been previous posts.

Wrex was an entertainer: a raconteur and radio personality in Rhodesia and also a sportsman, a regular Bisley face who also represented Zimbabwe in archery at the Seoul Olympics. he was also a police reservist during the bush war.

I only met him the once but found him a very friendly, easy-going guy and he was a good mate of my old man's.

CDs of his humour (like 'The terrorist's lament') pop up regularly as items for sale on Rhodesian web-sites. Apparently he was struck down by a heart attack, aged 71, while entertaining the bowls players post-match in South Africa.

    RIP gentleman and sportsman.

    RIP

  2. I completely agree with what you say Lanky: Wrex Tarr, a fine entertainer, sportsman, and a true gentleman.
