Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Just been on E-bay. Take alook at this tie pin for sale. Item number: 7738054417

No way would the Para Regt authorise such tat!!, it bears no resemblance to a PARA let alone a sniper, I am not sure whether snipers would like to admit the fact that they use an SLR as depicted by this tie pin, The soldier is one that is wearing an issued Mk 6 helmet with visor which means he could belong to any one of the units serving in N.I or anywhere in the world for that matter, albeit worn in the province during the troubles it could be anywhere and any soldier holding a weapon issued from 1965 onwards until the issue of the SA80 in the late 80's early 90s'. To me this lapel badge resembles a soldier crumpled up in a heap and not what I would expect the sniper profession to sanction.

It doesn't even look like a soldier.

  3. Yes your right on tht one. The Regimental Association were made aware of it and quite rightly did not want to be associated with it.
