Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Saw this article ( http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/exclusive-the-unseen-photographs-that-throw-new-light-on-the-first-world-war-1688443.html?action=Popup&ino=1 )
on the Independent's website, They are looking for any information about the photographs and I thought some here might be able to shed some light on some of the photos or simply want to take a look for interest's sake.
I was hoping I might spot one of my relative's however, no luck as yet :(
If you click back to the article you can leave comments there about the photographs.

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum area, feel free to relocate if wrongly placed and apologies for any hassle.

  2. A very interesting collection of pics - gives a human face to the history, more important than ever now Mr Harry Patch has left us. Would love to see an exhibition.

Want to mention a few favourites, but they are all worth a look - so many characters, so many untold histories. Rest in Peace all.
