Working for the private sector, paid for by the taxpayer...

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Navy working for Babcock and Imes, Crabs working for BAe and DARA, nothing really new, just providing support for contractors under the MoD's wonderful 'partnering' system  I'm sure some bean counter can prove it provides value for money to the taxpayer by moving a decimal point or changing a column in some spreadsheet.

  2. Not much point defence contractors/list x outfits developing and producing equipment without the involvement and actvive participation of the end users.

How would a defence contractor test fire (say) the new Meteor missile without a suitable launch platform? They couldn't exactly try it out from a rented Cessna 150, could they?

Been done this way for years

(no, I'm not a bean counter, either)
