Words in Walden
For anyone who is in or near Saffron Walden, this event is very worth attending. I saw Jonathon Miller on Saturday evening, and what a fascinating speaker he is.

One of the upcoming speakers, Richard Villar, is fascinating too. He was the RMO for 22 SAS and has some good tales to tell. I interviewed him a few days ago and will be writing that up shortly.

Stanley Johnson - father of the delightful Boris - will be speaking, and he is a character in his own right, but the plum on the pudding, certainly as far as I'm concerned, is the talk by Barry Cryer and his son Bob. I have just read the book 'The Diaries of Mrs Hudson' a ( fictionalised) journal by the landlady of 22b Baker St, where Mr Holmes lived.
Barry Cryer is a brilliant writer and superb comedian, as well as being a Grand Master at Mornington Crescent.
