WO2 wanted for Inf Regt RSWO - Interested?

Discussion in 'Royal Signals' started by SO3wheelreinvention, Feb 28, 2009.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I am trying to find a R Signals WO2 who would be interested in continuance or FTRS to be the RSWO of an Inf Bn. Start time would be soon. Location will be Germany. We are lookin at a year minimum or 2 years if prefered. There is also the possibilty of extending further to go to Herrick. Will definately do BATUS.

Ideally you should be a BSM but a good working knowledge of BG level comms would do and be capable of providing the Command and Control required to compete in the Inf.

Anyone interested or know someone who might be up for it?

If you are after FTRS, you might like to post in the TA Forum too.

Of course an RSWO will have BSM quals, wouldn't have got to RSWO otherwise

Doesn't have to be Sigs with those qualifications, RLC Comms Specs have same quals and are likely to have App Spec quals as well.

Since when did postings get sorted on public forums? Wouldnt have happened in my day blah blah..................

  8. He is asking from someone from outside to come in to become the RSWO. Normally by the time R SIGNALS get to WO2 they are either operational/strategic-level technical specialists or training/logistics specialists. That is a completely different kettle of fish from being a BSM, which is a specific role. Not al R SIGNALS WOs are BSM qualified.

  9. Apologies, I see what you mean. We are BSM's at Cpl, of course we aren't tech specs and have only one route to specialise in, except App Spec's.

  10. Fair point. More than happy to be contacted by other Arms and Services. The key point being that they don't have to be Infantry, just up for a stint in the mud!

  11. I am guessing they didin't have computers in your day let alone the internet! You'd be suprised what gets sorted on here.

  12. I don't think I've ever seen such a formal request on ARRSE, I'm impressed though. I hope you get your man.

    Bump.

  13. Not sure if this will be useful however the R Sigs are looking at employing "Warrant Officers In Trade". Theres a team somewhere dealing with it, probably at SOinC's, and what your looking for might fit in with posts they are trying to create. Just a thought.

  14. Thanks, thats helpful.
