Winter Olympics 2018

She ought to see a doc, there is something wrong with her nipple.

Years ago (15 -16 ? ) I attended some evening do which was all about Horse racing.

Don't ask me why I was there because all equestrian sports bore me rigid - well I know why I was there someone offered me a spare ticket free - there was food and a very cheap bar.

Anyway there's a panel of experts, racing journo , jockey, trainer etc it was a Q+A where the audience could ask anything they liked about racing and some of it was really specialist stuff.

It was hosted by Clare Balding back before she was mega famous and presented everything and just did horse racing.

Fair play to her, she really really does know horse racing inside out in the minutest detail.
Her memory of individual races and particular horses/stables/jockies was encyclopedic.
She was very entertaining drink in hand, smoking like a chimney ( so long ago before the smoking ban) you came away thinking f*ck me she knows her stuff.

Having said that I am sick of her on TV now.

Anyone explained why

1. Curling is a 'sport'?
2. There are male and female teams for curling?

Curling is a pile of ****, in short.
2. The men did not want a bunch of wimmin spoiling their quiet, peaceful and non PC game!

Seems the nation isn't sharing the luv with the Balding Olympic chat show, or put another way she seems to be getting a pasting on various sites. There are a couple of articles on the Guardian website (found after asking Google to look for crap Winter Olympics commentary). A lot of the comments have been deleted, no doubt had references to rug munching, but there are still a few pithy ones that haven't been censored.

What I hadn't realised is that the studio that Balding and the rest of the knitting circle are sitting in is not at the Olympics but in the UK. In other words, little affinity with what is going on PoonChang.

I’m just watching GB v Switzerland in the female event. Strangely compelling - I was on my way out of the house half an hour ago, but have delayed that to see how the match pans out. Some very easy on the eye competitors on both sides too, which helps!
My wife and I have been quite taken with the curling, particularly as Japan women have been doing well. They play GB this afternoon so tensions may be running high in the gaijin household.

They're not doing to well at the moment, 6-3 down after 6 ends, a 3 pointer by GB in that round.

Apologies if someone has raised this point before about the womens' curling...

But I am bloody certain that when I first became aware of the sport that it appeared to played by
"Youngish middle aged mumsy/granny" types

Just when did did the team turn into
"MILF plus teen hotty stepdaughters".
Is it my imagination?
My memory playing tricks?

It's just a pity that the wrong Russian ladies team was there.
I much prefer team Sidorova to team Moiseeva

You sir are too fussy...

Look... After so many times you get forced to the conclusion
It's not bad luck...
They are not out to get you ...
It's YOU Elise it's you.

It's not gone well for Christie.

Very nasty comments about Elise across the various newspaper websites, especially the Guardian.

Easy to mock the failures of someone who's put themselves out there and worked bloody hard at something for 4 years, winning 3 world championships along the way only to fail at the end, from the comfort of your keyboard, one supposes

For once I agree with you! Even if she has a touch of the Paula Radcliffe about her!

They mock her because of her excuses, whining, and crying , not because she gets disqualified or crashes every time she goes for Olympic medals....Lots of other athletes fail to medal and carry on without drawing attention to themselves by acting like a small child whose mum wouldn’t buy sweets. She has the skill, but is perceived as a joke due to her own behaviour.
