Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. sold in Silvermans for around 90 pounds. Has anyone used these? Are they significantly better than a Snugpack jacket? Worth the extra money?

Thanks for any information in advance.

  2. Man no one i know would not touch Silvermans with a barge pole , way too expensive...£££££.. ...Stay away from Arktis and Webtax too...utter
Stick to Softie or Snugpak..They pretty much have the market sewn up..
  3. In my experience, windstopper is neither one thing nor the other - not much use for insulation and not much much use for keeping the wind out either.
  4. Had a windstopper jacket ok for the pub wouldnt trust it on the hills without goretex .
  5. Thanks all, I'll keep my money then and stick to a softee.

  6. Wise choice.... :D
