Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Was hoping to do a back up of windows7Pro in case it crash's on to a 16GB Flash Drive.
But it seems doing so it's much bigger, anyone know what the size in GB is?

Have got an old 80GB external WD if needed, if it still works?

  2. Think i've found the answer!
If i have 60GB of date on a 1TB HDD then the size for back up should not be more than 60GB?
If this theory is right than any external HDD over 60GB+ should work?

  3. Go to "My Computer" and click on C: drive the amount of space used is the space you need for the back up. But it also depends on how you are backing it up, most back up programs use compression so it would be smaller depending on how good the back up program is.

  4. Yes.
