    FOR 40 years the original Star Trek crew has boldly gone in a wobbly spaceship apparently suspended on strings and has skirted a final frontier that has an abundance of mysteriously deserted cities.

    The Enterprise has been replaced with a computer-generated model that will look cleaner and fly more smoothly...... the original version had become dated. “Some of those special effects, particularly the external shots of the Enterprise, are due for a revamp.

  3. Excellent marketing move on the part of the producers. A whole bunch of Star Wars fans for years bemoaned the updates of the Special Editions of the original three films. To "appease the fans" (and not to flog more units, obviously) George Lucas just released the original versions of the the films on DVD for the first time and he's laughing all the way to the bank as saddos with no wives or girlfriends to support- or rent/mortages to pay because they still live with their parents- flock to buy the DVD of the same films for a second time (or third if you count the VHS-DVD conversion.)

    IIRC, he's about to start fcuking with Indiana Jones too- or was that just a South Park episode? :?

    Oh, and now there's going to be the HDDVD/Blu-Ray release too.
