Why pink?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. This picture was taken at SEME almost 2 years ago now, I don’t know if it’s still there but could someone tell me why this tank is pink???
It’s something I’ve always wondered and never had an answer to… :?

  2. Is it incase any B mechs want to play with proper vehicles, so we give them a nice fluffy, clean pink armoured vehicle instead.

    Only joking B mechs
  3. I think there was reference to this a few months ago. Didn't some female subby paint one of the gate guards? Not sure what thread it was on though pal soz.
  4. Looks like it could be the new Pie delivery tank there all talking about.

    Only joking A Mechs.

It's an S.A.S tank! Just like their old landrovers.
  7. So “them” are now recruiting from Brighton?

Goku, 'They' have always recruited from a broad spectrum! And the Brighton troop were originally from the 27 Reg. (The Queens Own herbaceous Borders, nicknamed 'The Pansies') Part of the 2nd Royal Horticultural Brigade.
  9. Spoils of war mes compadres. This vehicle was taken in the Falklands, by 49 Para at location 'x'. As I recall there were other vehicles, some weapons and in instances, articles of clothing.

I believe that the Army Museum is gathering a collection of similar items for an exhibition for the 25 years anniversary show being currently held. The 'pink' items have only just been 'cleared' for show. The units holding them have completed the field trials and R&D stuff and are due there in Aug(?)

This is a rare photo. How come it's been 'cleared' for this forum.... very unusual indeed. MOD PERSEC please!!!!!
  10. Well, I heard it was a commisioned presentation piece from a Brighton artist. Seemingly the Regimental Specialists wanted to leave the Corps something to remember them by! Sadly missed I say. Who we gonna take the piss out of now?
  11. Might well be a THEM machine but I doubt the guys on it are THEM. Very porky ones there.
  12. SLANDER

  13. It was used for Technician training at SEAE, but has now been handed back to SEME for some proper usage....
  14. Looks extremely SASsy to me - in all the senses you like . . . . . 8) :?
  15. But why pink?

I just can’t fathom the reasoning behind painting it pink of all colours?????
