Why Britain needs to re-instate the death penalty

It would have to be Rockall now that Gruinard has been decontaminated !

Surely that sign should be bigger and pointing out to sea?

It's bit pointless if someone can only read it after they have already landed and walked round to see it...

Agreed and we must always be on alert about this problem, but we do not have to dehumanise ourselves in the same way they have been by their beliefs.
Next time you see a primary school 'crocodile' of children in their little hi vis tops, try to visualize the event , still within living memory for many , of them being beaten, stripped and herded toward the gas chambers at Treblinka.

Visualize the parents of those children under 16 years old , living in the Warsaw Ghetto, who one terrible day were forced to give their children up to the Transports..... again, to Treblinka.

Over 3 million Jewish children - those classed as under 16 , were murdered by gas or bullets

Do those guilty of this deserve to have any human rights? #mothman

You would dehumanise yourself by not being appalled by those acts and wanting and seeking justice and or revenge........to not let emotion effect your judgements is more dehumanising as it means that you are emotionless and may as well be made of stone and therefore just as capable of committing the same acts .

No one is a higher being by not wanting revenge , anyone one who condmemns it are fooling theirselves.....stark reality is they just need the right subjective, personal trigger to bring out the same reaction that they'd criticise others for.

Yes, and aside from a small number who were murdered in the immediate aftermath of the camps being liberated they mostly got them (those captured by the Western Allies, at least). They were (for the most part) fed, watered and housed, they were given a fair trial, they weren't tortured and their end, when it came, was as quick and painless as possible according to the laws of the day.

Doubt it. He's got a good few more years to go.
Despite receiving the maximum 21 year sentence, Norwegian law allows this to be extended 5 years at a time if he still poses a risk.

only the useless ones...

Hmm...It may dehumanise you, but I'd cope and it would make my feel very happy that i have taken out a potential risk to those i love and care about .... so save your sermon Brother, cos im gonna stay in the real world and you can go back to your knitting circle.
Then you have no humanity. But you claim to have people you love and care about.

Doesn't everybody?

People sentenced to death have families too.

Yes. They deserve human rights and a fair trial.

The whole human rights thing sprung from those events.

If found guilty of genocide, death penalty should be administered. If they were summarily executed upon capture, I wouldn't care either. You can't compare genocide with homicide.

Except where the liberating soldiers, sickend by what they saw, handed over weapons to the inmates who did not have to listen to hi faluting BS about humanity quoted by cnuts in armchairs - like you, and who then used them on the worst offenders - who were the rank and file guards and kapos, as they were the ones who physically laid hands on them and other victims..... so, very unlike those high profile cnuts who made it to Nuremburg who you are talking about....

So stop talking bolloxs.

feck off, you're talking utter nonsense ....

no, some people do not have anyone to care for......when you have matured a bit you'll know that and maybe will stop sounding like a useless air head Padre who is actually part of the problem.

Triggered. You dirty little fascist pervert.

It is something different to kill a camp guard caught at the scene of the crime with one, who months or years later has been apprehended, now living under an allegedly assumed identity. Evidence needs to be brought into court and examined rationally.

So you've read where I wrote about the (relatively) small number who were murdered in the immediate aftermath, ignored it and gone off on a rant about the ones who were murdered in the immediate aftermath?

You're not really very bright, are you?

You know, for example, when Bergan-Belsen was liberated most of the SS guards were allowed to leave before the British arrived, don't you? The majority of the SS personnel who were stationed there were never tried, even though many of them were known to the authorities.

The Nuremberg trials weren't the only trials of people connected to the Holocaust...

they should have been tried and executed.

besides which, the guards were threatening to let the typhoid ridden souls loose. That wouldn't have been good. So we did a bit of a deal.

Quite sobering to realise what went just down the road from my second posting. 201/207.

Wiki numbers but over 200 SS personnel are known by name but never faced trial. Not a single Heer soldier from the POW camp ever faced trial.

I'd love to know how the SS men who did a runner persuaded the senior officers who stayed at the camp they'd be fine if they surrendered to the Allies.

A lot of the boxheads had completely gone native.

Apparently they had no comprehension that allied troops would be disgusted by their actions.

Many expected to just let bygones be bygones and fight communism together...

Along Marxist-Leninist-Maoist lines of an accusation is sufficient for a conviction. Especially if a confession is beaten out of the accused.
