Why is this the only Lewis Collins film that actually gets any regular showing? Ex TA/SAS as he is, could it have been bettered

Yeah, they could have stuck to the story in the book where they're kept in the pool, not the dining room and shot there! guess it would have been too cold for the old gits!

BTW, he was 4 PARA, couldn't join 'them' as his face was too well know (stand to be corrected on the 'them' bit!)!

no, he passed sas selection but was turned down because he was known. you watch the professionals, he actually fired live ammo

Or was it 10 PARA? Either way, he was TA PARA before not getting into 'them' (some say he faild selection, he says only his face failed selection because it was too well know!).

Oh, so you weren't on selection with him?

Let me put it like this to you; if they thought there was even the slightest chance of him passing, knowing that they wouldn't take him, do you think they would waste their time training him and taking up a place?

Like I say, some say he failed selection, though the man himself says only his face failed selection!

Lewis did! He joined 10 PARA IIRC to get in shape and prep for the role of Bodie.

Yeah, he was dead 'ard. He was a frikin hairdresser ffs.

10 Para but failed SAS(R).

Who Dares Wins is a good flick if only for it being rather cheesy but its still very watchable today.

Much better as Bodie. Still yearn for a Triumph Dolomite Sprint, Ford Capri Mk II 3.0 Ghia, Ford Capri Mark III 3.0S and a Ford Escort Mark II RS2000 on the basis of 'The Professionals'. I still occasionaly slide across my bonnet for effect.

My mate flew one of the Scouts you know.....

Fantasy Death Match - Bodie vs Gene Hunt! 8O

Place your bets, Gentlemen!
No brainer. Gene would knock the noncing slaaag out within 10 secs.

Gene Hunt v Jack Regan would be akin to Ali v Tyson in their respective primes though. :D

Saw TG last night. Nearly made me cry watching them destroy the Dolly and SD1.

Hardly suprising. The SD1s reliability was atrocious even when new. I once 'owned'* one and it was less reliable than a Labour Minister.

* = 'Borrowed'**

** = Stole. It fell to bits and failed to even have 10% of its equipment work so I 'owned' a 1973 Toyota Celica and left it in Bejams carpark instead. Never missed a beat apart from having no steering lock.
