Where to send the money.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. My kids have decided to collect some money for , in their words "the boys and girls whose Daddies and Mummies won't be coming home" from sandier climes.

They have been saving their pocket money and have some other ideas.

Whislt I applaud their efforts, my question is this:

Where is the best place to send it? Is there a charity to help the kids of those who have fallen or is the Army Bev Fund the best place?

    I'd appreciate some guidance.

    A proud Father.
  2. A very proud father I should think!!!!!
My two are 5 and 3 and already understand the principle of Remembrance Sunday, I will be encouraging them to put aside some pocket money after my wife gets back safely from her next tour!
  3. Good to hear you have some good kids there, it might be an idea to put the same post on the Charities threads as they would direct you better and let you know if something specific is already set up( I believe there is)

Well done and let the kids off washing up duties for a week :D
  4. If you man killed in action specifically, I don't think so. There is Forces Children's Trust.

    Here http://www.forceschildrenstrust.org/

    Given the deaths of a few fellas with families in recent months see here http://www.army.mod.uk/infantry/regts/the_rifles/history_traditions/roll_of_honour/index.htm I'll be sending some extra money to;

    Rifleman's Aid Society
    Peninsula Barracks
    SO23 8TS
    Tel: 01962 864176 ext 5128

and you may have a specific regiment or unit in mind. Most have their own regimental charity.
