Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hot on the revelation that the US Military has dismissed over 9000 qualified personnel at a replacement cost of some $ 200 Million over the last few years simply because they were ' gay '.. come this little news item about the 82nd Airbourne..

    Hoo Yah and all that:

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/01/27/army.gayporn.ap/index.html

some interesting insights into US mil think.. its okay to ' be ' gay, you just can't be gay..know what I mean?

kind of spoils it for some when on leave, though, the boys can all go and take in the strippers as long as they're not Chippendales..bit discriminatory eh, wot?

  2. daz

    daz LE

    And the problems is???

they knew the rules and where the line is drawn, they crossed the line and are going to be disciplined/chucked out of the forces.

moral of the tale, don't publish your photos on botty bashers U US

    Daz

  3. Point is, Daz, that there would be no similar hand wringing and outcry if the boys in question were hetero/straight and stuck up photties of them banging female butt [ as there are on many sites - even supposedly female soldiers posting nekkid sh*t from ' in theatre ' on various sites ].

Double standard.. they're okay to fight and die but can't blow off steam in their own personal time in their own personal way..
    America needs to grow up..

  4. I think you are making unfounded assumptions.

There were repercussions were there not, about the "supposedly female soldiers posting nekkid sh*t from ' in theatre '"

Any soldier for which their 'sexuality' becomes a problem, is a problem, and I believe you'll find that applied as a single standard.

Just because Canada has made the CF a social experiment/playground does not mean the US Forces position is wrong.

  5. hows your bunny doing on world domination?

  6. It will get there. Now add Bunny to your sig

  7. would love to . how?

  8. They could always come to England and join the LibDems , I understand they will bend over backwards to take anyone these days

  9. nice but how about the bunny?are they part of the rampant plot?my bird has a rampant rabbit and is very liberal with it

  10. Playing hide the sausage had always been, and will always be, an integral part of military life. From the ancient Greeks, to the whore-mongers of "The greatest generation" to the soggy-biscuit-playing rent boys of 3 PARA mortars. The fact that some chaps and chapesses get their jollies a different way shouldn't really matter. There always have been bufties in the world's armed forces.

Have to wonder though what the larger detriment to the operational effectiveness of the service is. IIRC the most notable effects of such a policy in the US have been felt among the medical branches and linguists- two pretty important areasin T.W.A.T. I'm sure you'll agree. IMHO, I don't really care if the people who would give the warfighter good gen about what the bad guys are up to or the people who are there to reduce the number of holes in bodies to the number that God intended, smoke a little pole or clam joust in their spare time.

    whats a bufty?

  12. Oh dear.

Look at the title of the thread, look at the subject matter and then use whatever it is you have instead of an imagination to try and figure it out for yourself.

  13. ok. you obviously got more first hand experience than me

  14. And that is may point with "Any soldier for which their 'sexuality' becomes a problem, is a problem"

While we don't have the details of every individual released from the US Forces for homosexuality, I think you'll find that with the exception of those who used the issue to get out of the Forces, or make a 'political statement', there was some 'issue' affecting the job, which would have the same result whether Homosexual or heterosexual.
