Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I know some of the old hands give us recruits, and soon to be recruits stick about how they had it harder than we have/will have, but for example how much time do new recruits actually spend in trainers as opposed to boots in basic training? Are we issued more kit now than the average national serviceman was?ie more ironing etc?
  2. Well when I went to visit my son on a parents day during his basic, I went into his shared room and pointed at the beds and said "what the **** are those". They were of course duvets. way too soft these days. Oh and it turns out that your best parade boots can indeed be used for a boot run at a moments notice.
  3. You'll never know the joy of pressing a box-pleat into a Greatcoat,or a nine by nine kit inspection.:meditate:

How do you make a bed box with a duvet? 8)
