Whats the difference between :

Hello guys

Long term lurker but first time poster, iv wanted to join the reserves for a while and i have found possiably two roles but on the army jobs website they look the same. would some one be able to tell me the difference in them and what they do in more detail?

https://www.army.mod.uk/rolefinder/role/110/engineer-specialist-driver

https://www.army.mod.uk/rolefinder/role/214/specialist-driver-reserves

Both are reserves, one looks like you get more quailifications (but it dosent really say what they are) the other is a bit more specific (class C) etc so if some one could help that be great: )

Many thanks

Gareth

The top one is part of the Royal Engineers and as such will likely drive some plant equipment and RE vehicles (bridge layers etc). You will also train as a Military Engineer, as all RE do.

The 2nd one is a Driver in the RLC. Depending on unit role you could get qualified to drive all military road vehicles (not bridge layers, tanks etc). You would probably be part of a transport troop. These are more like the Eddie Stobart drivers whereas the RE are construction equipment side (but will LGV etc)

Many thanks SR for replying :) its greatly appreaceated. im going to try and get a half day or day off next week.... see if i can pop into the office in cardiff for a chat, fingers crossed:)
