Whats the best present on retirement from the Military

#1
Hi,

I have ten days left until completion of service and I have been wondering what I should, or if I should buy something to mark the occasion.

I probably will do, (Buy myself something that is), but what do the members consider was the best purchase to date, from the former old and bold?

A gift set of Post-it notes and a gold-plated holepunch for your mantlepiece.

I am not that old, don't need viagra, although if I went to a brothel, it would cost me my gratuity in about a week.

Made me ;augh though.

I bought the mess a print of Steve McQueen on his motorbike about to leap the barbed wire from 'The Great Escape' with the caption 'took me 22 years but I made it'

A combination of military & civilian reflected in an appropriate setting I thought.

Last time I visited it was still on display too . . .

Oh, and I got a shitty print of some dodgy castle somewhere near Catterick - must have cost half of what I spent!
(Won't mention what I took as an extra present arfter my piss up though!)

I didn't get a 'Urine up', unfortunately it was planned in Caterick for the same day day as the helicrash in August. Was quite rightly cancelled.

And if I am honest, the best way to go. Quietly.

I suggest a monogramed bog seat in regimental colours. Ah, the gift that keeps on giving!!

The once in a life time opportunity to drive out the gate, raise two fingers and head off into the wild blue yonder that is the BAB 2.

Come back to the barracks after about 6 weeks having made sure you have grown hair and a beard.

Hire a large expensive car and a couple of hookers, sit outside the gates with a huuuge spliff in one hand and a hooker in the other whilst the guys are doing area cleaning.

The Sgts Mess at Lympstone has a nice padded head rest along the wall above the unrinals! Proper posh leather! Was donated by a member as he left. Thought it was great... if a little to high up...
