The Boys. How many times can one character have the word "cunt" in one script...?! The writer must be a Brit, or well versed in foreign affairs if not. Why else would the far-right Nazi character be called Stormfront...?

Butcher is Australian and they use **** just as much than we do, The Boys is based on a comic book series written by Garth Ennis who wrote some Judge Dredd stories for the 2000AD and some more political stuff for its spin off crisis back in the 90's. He wrote for or created some of my favourite characters like John Constantine Hellblazer, The Punisher and Preacher, he's from Norther Ireland. He named Stormfront after the US based Nazi website, back when I had more time on my hands I used to regularly troll them gay porn links, a man has to have a hobby.

The comics were a scathing commentary on reality TV, superheroes and NeoCon politics in the wake of 9.11. Not sure what the show is trying to be, it's gone well off-piste for the material it's based on.

I know, Hughie was a ginger Jock in the comic and some of the characters have switched gender but in spite of the changes I'm glad it been adapted, comics have been producing some of the best fiction for years and there's a wealth of quality material available. Amazon have picked up Paper Girls which is "Stranger Things" good and even if it gets altered I'd be happy to see it reach a wider audience. I'd draw the line at fkn about with Neil Gaiman's Sandman series though, I've been waiting over a decade for a screen adaption so when it eventually gets made it best me my way or I'll be fuming.

Star Trek Discovery S3.

Do you remember Andromeda, Kevin Sorbo and the sexy Lisa Rider (though at the time it was all Laura Bertram)?
So do I, the writers were hoping we'd forgotten.

He has had and is suffering from severe mental illness, I don’t like the fella, think he is riding on his MC far too much, he Cant even see that weaponising his kids to garner support is bad.
He's a hypocrite surrounded by sycophants, who might otherwise have made a difference.

Another vote for Ted Lasso on Apple TV (or more likely via torrenting). American college coach brought in to manage a minor Premier League football club. Very well written and good comedy.

He has blocked most if not all credible military, former military people on social media.

He is surround like you say with sycophants and a worri fly increasing number of KBF, EDF and Tommy Robinson fluffers.

Hughie was based on/inspired by Simon Pegg. By the time the programme was commissioned he was too old to play a young man so got the role of his Hughie's father instead.

I thought the 2 series shown so far were enjoyable. The guy who plays Homelander is terrific.

Antony Starr, you need to watch Banshee if you haven't already.

I watched one of Laurence Rees' minor series on the Germans' love affair with death and its Austrian avatar, yon guy from Bramau am Inn, "The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler". It passed a few hours, was watchable - evidently so since I didn't switch channels, but it wasn't anywhere near as gripping as "Auschwitz - The Nazis and the Final Solution" or "The Nazis - A Warning from History".

What let it down a lot was its narration - I believe from Rees himself, as it had nowhere near the same power and clarity that the two aforementioned series had in their voiceover work from Samuel West.

Having said that, I'd pay money for Jonathan Meades to narrate a new vocal track for it.

"The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler".
Is that the documentary where they interview a German journalist who was a member of the Hitler Youth during the war, and he made the point that if Hitler had died after Munich but before the invasion of Poland, he would be seen today as the greatest German of the 20th Century?

It was either "The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler" or the "The Fatal Attraction of Adolf Hitler." I get the two confused.

I definitely watched the former one, but it didn't have any interviews to camera - just some reenactments of the Heer general staff plotting on how to kill GroFAZ. The latter one may have the interview you are talking about.
