What TV show have you just watched

An episode of CSI: New York. Quite entertaining but utterly unrealistic. Still, passed an hour relatively painlessly.

Gave Avenue 5 a go last night. Pretty funny & some good one liners. As long as it doesn't take a header into the doldrums from Ep 2 it could be worth watching.

The first episode of Picard has dropped onto Amazon prime. Bit of a slow start and some of Patricks Stewart's acting in some of the earlier scenes was a bit ropey. The last 20 minutes it started to get going and the end scene was pretty amazeballs

Seriously miffed they are going for a weekly release and not dropping the entire season at once.

Been watching the Witcher on Netflix, plenty of violence and good looking women getting their kit off. Passes an hour if I am bored.

It's on cable TV as a weekly show over here, so maybe that's why it's only being released that way on Amazon. I can see it for free. Don't tell me socialism doesn't work!

Cheers,
Dan.

That's strange because Amazon is billing it as an "Amazon Original".

It's only on Amazon because Netflix was offered it and effed it off at the high port because of what happened with Star Trek: Discovery. It's actually not an Amazon original, it's a CBS All Access original, but that channel is only available in the States and Canada at the moment.

Here's a very informative playlist on YouTube that goes into detail about the whole sorry Picard saga:

The show is already diffy one showrunner, and it's being written and helmed by the guy who helped kill the Star Trek movie franchise, one Alex Kurtzman. If there's a gold standard for derivative, uninspired, woke hackness, it's stuff done under his imprimatur.

You will love the first 10 minutes of the new show then, I certainly rolled my eyes.

Richard Hammond’s ‘Big’ series on Discovery.
Absolutely fascinating. Last week was the VW factory in Wolfsburg. They cycle everywhere indoors, it has 65km of railway, it’s own internal bus network & a sausage factory. 6.8 million sausages last year.
This week was the C5 USAF cargo aircraft.
Immense.

So, VW now stands for Volks Wurst?

I don't watch much on the tellybox and don't have Sky, Netflix, Amazon etc but have just caught the first episode of Yellowstone with Kevin Costner and can feel me getting sucked into watching this 'cowboys 'n injuns with a twist' series. It's on Paramount Network on FreeSat... Big country, Montana landscapes and what seems to be a good storyline. Not really a Costner fan but this looks worth the effort. The accents and cowboy drawl have meant I've had to press rewind a couple of times but hopefully will tune my ear soon... They're on Season 3 I understand so I'm a bit behind the curve at Episode 1 Series 1
Search for my review on this before Crimbo.
It gets better in a wtf sense.

Being a self confessed Star Trek fan I gave it a look at last night, with the preview of the next episode it looks promising.

Channel 5 was left on, after the missus watched her Aussie soaps (I know, kill me now). Ice Road Truckers popped up. Christ, it’s still going? How on earth did they milk 10 series out of what is effectively the same thing every year? That said; weirdly compulsive and a couple of easy on the eye female truckers too!
