What to do/where to go in Chamonix?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Other than the obvious, what's good to do this time of the year in Chamonix?

Anyone know any good pub/club/bars there? Good/cheap food/drink/women?

I depart at 0415 tomorrow morning.
  2. Don't know about this time of year but during the summer I used to live in extreme squalor out of the back of a Mini van on Snell's Field.
Climbing or skiing? Have a great time
  3. Snowboarding. I'm only there for 4 days, so I'm more interested in nightlife...but would love to try the climbing there.

Extreme squalor? I'm staying in a 7 EURO a night hostel!
  4. There are bars throughout the town, but the Irish one always seems one of the busiest. If you fancy doing some indoor climbing theirs a great wall in les houches just down the road.
  5. Bar le National, town centre-ish.
  6. Not been there for a couple of years but the Aussie bar was kicking.

Would love to know if it is still there thesedays, no doubt it is.

14 years ago JJ's bar (big wooden thing) was hopping. Pulled too.

Let me know how it goes.
