Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi, sorry if i have posted this in the wrong section but i am hoping to join the army and was wonderind which regiment to join, i have pick 5 that i would like to join so could i please have your opinion.
These are my selections: Royal Tank Regiment
    Parachute Regiment
  2. Yes there all parts of the British Army, Happy to help, bye.
  3. *they're

  4. To be fair they all do completely different things...

What do you want to do?
  5. What interests you ?

If you want to be a steely eyed killer, join a "Teeth Arm."
If you want to leave the Army having gained further qualifications and be established in a trade, join a corps.

It's about what you want to do !
  6. I'd suggest a Job where you can use it after the Army
  7. what do you want to get out of the army?

if you want to have an addrenaline rush then join the an infantry regiment eg paras (if you like running all the time) or the yorkshire regiment.

if u want to get a trade then be in the REME or a dog walker

(wouldn't advise on the REME and that stuff i know i will get surround sound bitching now i said that)

    join the yorkshire warriors
  8. Probably the most sensible advice anyone ever offered me.

You can get all sorts of trades in the RE and the RLC from building to driving.

Forget the Infantry pretty much, as others have said, its good for a bit of an adrenaline rush but you will probably only leave with the stunning qualifications of knowing how to polish boots, dig holes or work a mortar.

Oh...or gain a swimming qualification as some Infanteer told me yesterday
