Question. Has it lost half its share, or has the world economy grown?

Granted, stationary growth isn't a good thing, but it's just an thought.

Both - for example the Chinese economy has grown at about 10% a year (unfair trading practices, etc, etc) which accounts for some of the decline - as do the developing economies of other countries.

But we've also drowning in red tape. And every pound spent on red tape is money not spent improving the efficiency of the business.

Politicians love passing legislation for ever more red tape. As most have f--- all experience of running a business, they are oblivious to the damage they are causing. Cut out the unnecessary regulation and we'll grow faster.

Spot on.

The amount of red tape we have to deal with is putting so much drag on profitability.

Hopefully. one thing to come out of brexit is a bit more streamlining so we can get our exports out with the minimum of fuss and the imports in efficiently

We do have to be careful though looking at less developed countries with double digit growth as this tapers off as a country becomes developed. China won't be able to keep up 10% going forwards

I'm interested in @History_Man's assertion that both the EU and UK are waiting to see who will be the next incumbent of the White House; as that will influence the outcome of any subsequent deal. What do you think will be the difference between any deal with Trump in the chair, as opposed to Biden?

My two pennies' worth is that Biden is more pro-EU, TTiP will be back on the table, and he'll be cooler towards the UK.

Trump's foreign policy is not consistent, so fvck knows with him. Maybe Farage might help us out here? They seem friendly enough.

I've got £20 on Trump to win, so on balance, I hope the Septics vote for him.

The EU are keen for Biden* to win as if he becomes POTUS then you have both our oldest Ally & Brussels continuing to be staunch socialists colder than ice.

* Basically, anyone but Trump.

Noticable that today's Brexit talks are continuing with zero leaks, which is bizarre.

...Costs . . . EASY !!

Deduct from the present carefully, rigorously, costed Government benefit that is “Child Allowance”, that proportion/component that is included/intended for, the first two meals of the day...

The squealing will be epic.

It's like, deducting from the, like, government wage, innit...?

Wait for the recriminations to start.

Not a wind up...this is Biden campaign material for Democrat voters. As close to an admission of a failed internal selection process as possible.

Are they in the 'tunnel'?

"There is also expected to be less briefing and leaking about the substance during the “intensive” phase — often referred to as a negotiating “tunnel.” That means reporters should not expect regular press conferences from Barnier or briefings from Downing Street. “There’s no time to waste,” the U.K. official said. "

.. but are you happy?

And why raise the issue?
Could be happier. But not too dusty.

You raised the issue some time ago. If you want to bare your breast to the world at large, carry on. Just remember what you've posted.

You were having a dig at Wordsmith, I found it amusing. I suppose you'd run out of witty one liners. (Giggle)

Witty one liners & BL or HB or Skids? Shurely shome mishtake?

Flavour and fragrance ingredient manufacturer (who knew of such a thing?!) Treatt have announced they are building a new £41m factory and global HQ in Bury St Edmunds. More than 200 people will be employed on the site when it becomes operational.

I can't cope with much more of this.
