What now for the EU ?

No specially manufactured heads of steel rivets which are welded onto the now welded hull.

They had budgeted 10 million euros for the overhaul, now they are at 135 million euros. Only slightly over budget and nobody likes to talk about the fact that 3 or 4 training ships could have been built with this money.

And ist not only creches, you mean Kindergärten I suppose? It's also Flatscreen TV for every barracks room and maternity Flecktarn for those ladies that got knocked up in their duty for the Vaterland.

This woman now Is High Chancellor for the EU.
What? That's a new one. I'll ask my Bundeswehr colleagues about that tomorrow. However, there is a peculiar rule, based on the ridiculous military working hours instructions, that if you are the parent of a school-aged child, you can finish work 15 minutes earlier that your colleagues. This applies equally to those Bundeswehr personnel who only go home at weekends, so don't get to spend an extra 15 minutes per day with their children.

Surely Brexit, and the resulting seasonality of food, is good for the planet and must, therefore, be supported by those of a lefty wokey environmentally bias?
It the same with the closure of the coal mines - I have posted this before.

Telling people that coal is acknowledged as the fossil fuel with the greatest environmental impact is generally accepted as truth, and that such reduction in its use is a good thing. Likewise China's continued investment in coal is generally accepted as a dreadful thing.

Next point out that, therefore, Mrs Thatcher was well ahead of her time to close all the pits. Stand back, observe implode. Enjoy.

Indeed.
Wasn't Corbyn the Commie's rallying cry to support green technology and in another part of their manifesto, to re open the coal mines?

Defence Minister von der Leyen has drawn up a plan to make the Bundeswehr more attractive. It contains eight points. The chapter "Modern Accommodation" is the first to be opened.

The measures under the chapter "Modern Accommodation" formed a financial focus of the catalogue, which will be discussed in the cabinet next Wednesday. According to the submission, the accommodation facilities to be newly acquired include "flat-screen TV with wall bracket, floor lamp with reading light, mini fridge and wardrobe mirror". In future, these would be part of the basic equipment for soldiers' individual accommodation.

According to the report, further topics of the draft are "leadership and organisational culture", "mobilising potential", "balance between family and service", "work autonomy", "career paths", "healthy work" and "anchoring the Bundeswehr in society". Another focus is the expansion of flexible workplaces: To this end, a total of 3000 new laptops are to be purchased by 2016. The total costs for this amounted to 11.75 million euros.

The CDU politician had already set herself the goal in January of making the Bundeswehr one of the most attractive employers in Germany. Her plans also include an improvement of family and career. Among other things, the expansion of childcare facilities for soldiers' children is planned. No additional costs are to be incurred by the taxpayer - the reforms are to be financed within the existing budget.

They have to raid the entire Bundeswehr to get a battalion of Panzergrenadiere ready for the Baltic because of the lack of personal equipment, but there is money for such crap. Unbelievable!

Blimey!

Bearing in mind that almost everybody has private off-camp accommodation, who lives in these 50,000 single soldier rooms? I wonder if this ever happened. I am going to ask my colleagues tomorrow.

You do realise that our alliance with France is directly born from the attempts of hegemony of both countries. But if Germany was linked to us and Hitler admired us, France always saw us as a competitor to be controlled and, from my POV, Britain suffered for that. If people saw the Entente as a means to celebrate the end of hostilities between us and France, I see Brexit as the means to stop being controlled by them. On a personal level it matters not one jot. On a political level this will carry on for a while.
Yes. I’m fully aware of that. The French and the Germans set up a Franco German committee in the 30s signed by Ribbentrop for closer alignment between the two countries in order to create ‘a new European order.’ France wanted to use it to alienate the U.K., Germany wanted to use it as a bridge to build upon with the U.K. infact, it was this political alignment of the two country’s for the greater good of Europe that was used as the main defence for Vichy officials post war to defend their collaboration and rather enthusiastic support for the Holocaust.

Many historians have pointed out that since then France has been desperately trying to re write its history of the early to mid 40s to airbrush a lot of things out.

France historically was dominant in Europe , but the Franco Prussian war demonstrated that between France and Germany, Germany was both the economic and military stronger.

Fast forward 40 years, Germanys main worry is that we’ll side with France. Something that was never a given as the U.K. was always a reluctant partner in the triple entente and had never agreed to fight In it, but Germany’s move through Belgium brought is on that. Fast ward another 25 years and we get drawn into that one.

3 major wars in 70 years between Germany and France, 1 of which we weren’t involved, 2 of which we could’ve avoided and all 3 Germany was concerned about our entrance.

Brexit means a lot for many people. For me, the whole construct of the EU is rotten to the core. Every time Europe United it goes East on a land grab. There’s no democratic accountability.

Had the EU reformed and stayed as a trading block I’d have voted to stay, but it’s going federal and I want out as with politicians like Heath, Blair, Kinnock and Major there’s no guarantee that vetos would be used.

War Hero
there is a massive EU disinformation campaign.
EUropeons are being bombarded by claims they delay is safety related and the UK is being ‘reckless’.
Al Jazeera are reporting the A.Z's plant in India, is ramping up production and have begun exporting the vaccine in large airlifts to places such as Brazil.

Are Brazil and India being mentioned by the EU as being "reckless?"
Or just the UK?

Having failed to secure options for multiple vaccine sources for Political showmanship, dragged the EMA out of GB, leaving it understaffed and overworked for Political Showmanship, right at the point when the virus first started taking a serious hold in Europe..... they now find themselves "at the back of the queue" (Cheers Barrack and Dave.)
All for Vaccine orders from company's they thought weren't good enough for them?
Now some of their populations appear to be under emergency restrictions with detention centres, curfews and having to carry cards to prove they can be, where they've been found to be, at the time they are found, when challenged by their Police.... Papers, please!
Any attempt by individual countries to ease their position, gets jumped upon as breaking ranks and meanwhile, Third World countries are getting vaccinated largely under their own steam, with a UK vaccine (most likely approved with the help of staff, formerly and most recently employed in their EMA?)All in numbers the EU civ pop can only wish for....but never mind all that...look at the stupid British being "reckless?"

If they want to believe it, let them. Thank god we are out of their sphere of control, because if the Irish are trailing in at the back of the queue for their share of the meagre vaccine rations the EU have secured, it doesn't take a genius to work out where we might have been, had we still been in this spiteful clown show, either under Cameron or May.

Erm, I’m getting confused.

The supporters of the Scandinavian Doom-Goblin tell us that eating seasonally is a good thing as it reduces the hob-nailled carbon footprint that stomps all over the face of the goddess Gia (or something like that).

Yet the same people are telling us how stupid and destructive Brexit is because out-of-season fruit and veg won’t be available.

Surely Brexit, and the resulting seasonality of food, is good for the planet and must, therefore, be supported by those of a lefty wokey environmentally bias?

Or maybe jumping on bandwagons, complaining about everything, and demanding we listen to their “facts“ is more fun than simple analysis and logic?
Ahem FACT is always in upper case in da woke lingo fam.

accommodation for 50,000 refugees?
Not up to standard. At Marham some years ago there were empty quarters. They were offered up for the Vietnamese boat people (remember them?). The council turned them down as not fit to live in. Singlies got moved in and loved them, much better than the blocks.

Dave Keating just can't help himself

Such an amazing gesture by EMA. To announce on December 17th that they'll bring forward the meeting to approve a vaccine by a whole 6 days......
They've pulled out all the stops!

At the current rate, it will take nearly 2 years for the RoI to vaccinate its entire population.
