What must fall to make us forget slavery?

Lots of chat in this household about the sacking of Colston's statue, and the Bishope of Bath and Wells offering to get rid of a stained glass window, so that people descended from slaves can be appeased.

I thought arrse could help make a list of other items with strong slavery connections that will need to be destroyed if we are to rewrite history in this way. We could even select work parties from the BLM campaign to do the job (without pay of course).

Could I start the list with
a certain railway and famous bridge built 1942-5
The Colosseum
The Parthenon
The Pyramids
The Sphinx
Everything in the Valley of the Kings
Angkor Wat
Inca and Mayan buildings.

Please add your own suggestions. Full list to be sent to Saddiq Khan and his Commissars for re-writing London's history.

Most of the middle East, India, China....

I find it strange that there's the vandalism of statues in the west of slavers and slave owners who have been dead for centuries in some instances, but the hordes who are rioting and looting don't give a damn about modern slavery in Africa and the Middle East.

Oh, and I can't forget to mention that our sainted Casino Indians also indulged in slavery, but their leaders now try to deny it as "white men's lies"

There is a rather stunning Library in yet another Oxford College (all Souls) which is very much in the gun sights! Oxford college commissions slavery plaque amid student pressure over benefactor's colonial links donated by the Codrington Family who at one stage owned Barbuda in the Caribbean.
I do wonder if our Labour politicians in Bristol and London and o yes Oxford are not going to be caught out by some long buried legal codicils that will take away centuries of generous funding. Coulson revenge from the grave!
