What Music Are You Listening To?

The opening minute is Spike Jones and His Other Orchestra, and they play it beautifully, then it's The City Slickers who take the rest. I really wish that Spike Jones could've recorded the entire song of "Laura" by his other orchestra, as I think it's great.

I'm also a fan of Tex Beneke the tenor sax player and singer, as well as the Modernaires and Ray Eberle. What can I say, I grew up on stuff like this.

The soundtrack of the film Dien Bien Phu by Georges Delerue.

One of the most moving musical piece ever. The first time I heard it, there was not one dry eye in the theater.

This was also used in La Rafle (The Round Up).

Reading the comments to this clip intensified the emotion.

All the time I'm not listening to next door's fucking outdoor 80s racket over the coming weekend, I shall be thankful for small mercies!

This is magnificent. The Poozies, Fresh Blood

Listening to the lyrics and the accent, I'd have guessed either Shetlands or Western Isles, seeing the credits at the end, I wasn't a million miles out!
