what is a drill pig?

now in my stab days i was always led to believe by regs and ta that drill pigs are called so because they re sh1te at drill but looking round arrse it seems that is'nt the case so can we set the record straight and find out if i need to change my username

Quite the opposite in fact. Keep your tag. Drill Pigs are the apogee of military bearing and precision.

Once visited Pirbright and discovered The Holy Grail of drill as practised there by The Guards.

Didn't do me any good though.....they locked me up as a slovenly example to other lesser mortals....such as I was. ( Cavalry trained ..explains a lot)

I thought I had heard all the comic sayings of the drill pigs but when awaiting discharge at my depot in Arborfield I was watching some new recruits practising for their passing out parade, I heard a new one. As a recruit was marching his head was rolling from side to side. The WOll overseeing the parade screamed out ”Sgt Smith, stick your hand up that man’s arse and give his spine a twist, his head’s falling off.”
