Sorry, the Paras have a prior engagement. Can you wait a couple of months? I'm sure they'd love to be there....

Send in more news gathering teams, to gather more photos of locals wearing kitchen equipment.

Tunisia, Yemen, Jordan and now Egypt. HMG should consider the repurcussions and start contingency planning in the event that such popular uprisings spread around the Middle East and more radical versions of the Islamic Brotherhood take over, particularly in the Gulf states.

What about if we had a couple of aircraft carriers, each with a dozen Harriers embarked??

That'd show those pesky towel-heads; and it would increase Britannia's standing in the world...........

I selected send troops to Suez by mistake. Sorry ... [Probably a bit of nostalgia for my days in the Near/Middle East]
It should have been do nothing.

Interesting question though... Would the UK learn from the past mistakes that the US made with South-East Asia and steer clear of direct intervention, or would/could we take part in something that might have the possibility to destabilise (well, further destabilise) the region?

More to the point, how long before Israel decides that the need to think about number 1 and takes proactive stabilising measure?

Remove all antiquities to British Museum immediately for 'safe keeping'.

Prepare for legal action from expats who had to pay £300 for flight home without proper in-flight food; they were only offered "a snack pack". One passenger has already complained about this appalling disaster on BBC News this morning.

Is there any oil there? No then let the gyppos deal with it themselves and the bloody yanks can zip it as well!
