Right now re watching "An Ungentlemanly act" 1992
Royal Marines defend Government House from Argentine invaders during the events that triggered the Falklands War.

Bob Peck as Maj Mike Norman OC NP8901
Ian Richardson, Ian Mcneice

Some technical flaws with the FV432's filling in as argie LVTP-7's

other than that enjoyable movie

The Falklands play was on BBC4 the other night (and it's on Youtube)
Patricia Hodge doing a very good turn as Maggie with a decent supporting cast

Watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade last night. Favourite one of the franchaise and i think you could sense that Sean Connery enjoyed filming it.
Generally holds up to the test of time as well, only a few dodgy green screen bits.

Something showing Maggie in a good light, how did that get by the BBC scheduling commissar?

No spoilers. Read the book. :)
The change to the ending was what put me off of watching the film. I had such a strong visceral negative reaction to it that the film ended up on my not watching at all ever list.

Pity. It looked good in the trailer.

Meanwhile, if you wanted to watch Warner Bros. films in the cinema next year, and only in the cinema, forget it.

Hollywood PANIC | Dune, Matrix 4 and ENTIRE WB 2021 Slate to HBO MAX | Movie Theaters are DOOMED - YouTube

Basically, the next Matrix sequel will be on PirateBay the day of joint HBO Max/"cinema" release. And Disney will be doing the same, as will Paramount and Sony.

I hope none of you guys and gals had stock in cinema chains.

They commissioned it then banned it

The Falklands Play is a dramatic account of the political events leading up to, and including, the 1982 Falklands War. The play was written by Ian Curteis, an experienced writer who had started his television career in drama, but had increasingly come to specialise in dramatic reconstructions of history. It was originally commissioned by the BBC in 1983, for production and broadcast in 1986, but was subsequently shelved by Controller of BBC One Michael Grade due to its pro-Margaret Thatcher stance and alleged jingoistic tone. This prompted a press furore over media bias and censorship.[1][2] The play was not staged until 2002, when it was broadcast in separate adaptations on BBC Television and Radio. It was aired again on BBC4, 1st December 2020, over 18 years after it was last transmitted.

Read the books Jan Guillou's trilogy about the fictional Swedish Knight Templar Arn Magnusson.

I saw a recommendation for a film with Steve Coogan and usually his name puts me off but it said this was a serious role so I thought I would give it a go.

Serious! Wow. It is a cracking movie basically a court room drama but very tense and well acted. I thoroughly recommend this, but don't watch if you are feeling down or you may be looking for the pills or Mess Webley.

Really good movie about a horrible time in recent human history.
