What film have you just watched?

Wasn't the convention in Hollywood movies of the time not to wear the Medal of Honor Ribbon on the correct side out of respect for the decoration and the men who had it?
Not that I've seen more likely someone added it at the last second from costuming dept.

Cold pursuit, some nice twists n turns. product placement however from HH to jeep Humvee and a LR thrown in too. I did laugh at the ending

Westfront 1918 - Made in Germany in 1930 by Ufa Film. Kind of along the same lines as "All Quiet on the Western Front" Not a Tommy or Yank to be seen, but there are plenty of French peegs and Renault tanks to make life difficult for our German infantry company.

A group of German infantrymen of the First World War live out their lives in the trenches of France. They find brief entertainment and relief in a village behind the lines, but primarily terror fills their lives as the attacks on and from the French army ebb and flow. One of the men, Karl, goes home on leave only to discover the degradation forced on his family by wartime poverty. He returns to the lines in time to face an enormous attack by French tanks.

Thanks for that ... just downloaded a copy to watch later

I've just watched a classic off my DVD shelf:

Picked up 'Danger Close' in Asda this morning. Not bad, I thought. Some of it seemed to be influenced by 'We Were Soldiers', but overall not a bad film.
I followed it up by reading two of the history books on the real battle. More interesting, and shameful the way the senior ranked officers who weren't actually involved in the fighting put themselves up for bravery awards (and got them!)...

Edited to add: Book details (Available on Amazon, etc);

The Battle of Long Tan: The Company Commander's Story, by Harry Smith (Himself)

Long Tan: The Start of a Life Long Battle, by Harry Smith.

The Battle of Long Tan: As featured in The Vietnam Years, by Michael Caulfield

Most of the back half of "Guns of the Magnificent Seven", with George Kennedy playing the character, "Chris", made famous by Yul Brynner in the first two movies. Quite good, but not as good as the original. The climax is quite exciting though, as the titular seven storms a prison fortress.

NETFLIX Is starting to be my goto as first choice when looking for something to watch.

Just watched The Two Popes with Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce, outstanding, first ten minutes is heavily subtitled because of the many languages being spoken, but then it switches to English. Well worth a watch for the acting alone.

Also just watched Red Joan with Dame Judy Dench as the treacherous love struck spy. Also a really good watch.

Currently on Season 1 of Ozark on NETFLIX, a sort of Tinstar meets Get Shorty. Compelling viewing.

Enjoy.

Well for something completely different I have just watched this:

All I can say is, oh dear.

Oh, that is the porn parody, isn't it?

Kinky if so.

I approve.
I think it is an everything parody, porn, daleks, films in general. The DVD includes 'The Other Version' which is slightly shorter but entirely comprised of out-takes and bloopers. It really is quite silly. Apart from the rude bits, obviously.

I watched that Indonesian cop film "the Raid 2" the violence and action was relentless .
I must remember to give that place a miss.

No violence and wall-to-wall fit women - most of whom were very, er, friendly - when I was doing 8wks on/4wks off out there in 2007. Did not see one ugly/old woman - until we got to Papua. Ugh!!!
