What extra assessments do they take if your BMI is between 28-32?

Just had a talk with the National Recruitment Centre.

They said if you have a BMI between 30-32, you will need your waist measurement to be 98cm or below. That being said, if all of your medical is fine and your issue is BMI...you can still do the rest of the assessments and if you pass it all, you have to work on your BMI and don't have to do the tests again. Once you met the BMI goal, then you will be able to pass.

Thought if your bmi was over they didn’t let you continue ?
a lad from my unit failed as his stomach was 2cm bigger !
I am guessing this applies for when basic training begins? My question was based from the intial assessment before beginning the basic training so I guess it depends so not sure
