What are friends for?

Discussion in 'ARRSE: Site Issues' started by putteesinmyhands, Jul 18, 2010.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The FAQ lists:

What is the difference between a friend and a contact?
Where is list of friends and contacts displayed?
How can I request a friend, accept a friend or break a friendship?

...but doesn't explain what friends are for. Is it to decide sides for ARRSE's 20th July Plot?

Need to know as time is running out.

Buggered if I know. I thought it was to do with getting notifications if friends posted, and also I thought you could email friends rather than PM them. Neither of those seem to be true. Maybe someone who uses another vbulletin-run forum can enlighten us?

  4. Reading between the lines answers the question, I think.

It's obviously far easier to break a friendship than a contact.

Solar topee and a reliable rickshaw-wallah, please.

Well that's most Arrsers out the equation then. :)
  6. As I still haven't got the hang of albums and blogging seems to be the art of taking notes while talking to yourself, I'll happily remain oblivious, then.

    Thanks for the clarification.
  7. "blogging seems to be the art of taking notes while talking to yourself" perfect!
