Westminster - numbers/serviceability of lt armd veh

Might be of interest to some. Ann Winterton MP asked:

how many (a) FV430 series, (b) Scimitar, (c) Sultan, (d) Samson, (e) Samaritan, (f) Spartan, (g) Striker, (h) Sabre, (i) Scorpion and (j) Saxon vehicles are in working order.
The detailed answer from Adam Ingram can be found at this link:

I can't cut and paste 'cos it includes a table of figures. I will just give the quantity in land forces - fit or in 1st or 2nd line maint figures wef 29 Apr 05.

FV430 series 1,154
Scimitar 240
Spartan 320
Samaritan 41
Sultan 153
Samson 38
Striker 31
Sturgeon 0
Salamander 0
Saxon 312

Whoever drafted the answer apparently thinks that ALL the vehicle types listed are CVR(T).
Glad to see that he is getting a full brief; on CVR(T)!!!

Wonder why Ann Widdecombe is so interested?

What happened to all the Sturgeouns (sic) and Salamanders?
At the risk of being Waahd, those are the VISMOD (visually modified) Scimitar and Spartan used in BATUS to represent T80 and BMP. They are not actually types of CVR(T) and should not be on this list. I would imagine that the 3 coys worth in BATUS are listed under their actual types.
