I love this man.

'Has a date been set for construction of the new aircraft carriers yet?'
'no its a complex plan, no firm order has been placed'.

And in the news the other day he is harping on about record investment in the Navy. No order = no money paid = no investment.

I'll be completely honest (which is more than could be said for those t0ssers), because of the predicable responses and the lies, I couldn't even be bothered to do it.

I want to see that cnut on Question Time. That's is something I want to see.

I want to see him dressed in pink and floating in Barrymore's swimming pool. But that's beside the point.

I don't know why they bother with these "online debates", especially if they're going to "moderate" any difficult questions.

With a gov such as we have, one day soon we are going to get bitten on the Arrse by some rag tag army, defence is our insurance policy, if you don't invest in it your not insured simple as that.
So when the Isle of Wight is invaded for instance, will Dirty Des be telling us it's the fault of the Generals, you know those Guys who have spent a lifetime in uniform as opposed to MP'S who are generally Johnny come latelies.

I would pay good money to see him on Question time with perhaps RFUK, Giblets or many other of Arrse's finest in the audience for sure.

That both of my questions suprise surprise didnt get past the Mod's as im im sure a few ARRSE questions from others didnt either.

Poo grrl etc......... wonder how much it cost to have the consultants and outside agencys to set up the WWW (web.white.wash) chat.

esited to add 'bedin too' on the panel

I completely reject the idea that morale is low. I have been out many times to see our troops on operations and morale is consistently high - and you will hear the same from their commanders and from anyone who has been out to see from themselves.

Of course you will - Because the events are stage managed long in advance! What kind of fool are you to believe that troops are going to tell it how it is when you're escorted by their CO and RSM?

Tony Leeks: Mr Brown, as you have only been in the job a very short while how can you say "You have been to see the troops MANY times"? How many times ? Morale not low! Troops in Basra were detailed off to be present when the PM visited just before Christmas.

Des replies: I have been to Iraq three times and Afghanistan twice. I have further visits to both planned in the near future. I went to Colchester to meet the Paras on their return from Afghanistan. I can say categorically that morale is high.

I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan as many times as you, but I went for months at a time! Morale may well be high when you visit troops who are sat around the bar at BAS, or when you visit a stage managed crowd somewhere else, but who the fuck are you to say what day to day morale is like amongst the lads?

As for the paras being happy on their return from Afghanistan - No shit.

And lastly...

violet cosby: my brother was killed in the summer. the way in which the family have been dealt with since is un exceptable. why is it that not only are we expected to deal with the loss of our loved ones but also have to constantly follow up on the mod and make sure thry are doing there job properly regarding our own aftercare.

Well, if that's the case, I'd certainly like to hear some more details.

Yeah, ask him about Op. Granby. He didn't have a clue what it was when an NCO asked him on a visit to BAS.

Because he doesn't give a shit about the lads, to him the forces are merely an instrument of political force. Bush clicks his fingers, and Tony answers, without taking an interest in how it happens.

He's a shit. Simple.
